| Working conditions |
Providing the best working conditions and optimising the way in which our staff fit into the
corporate context are premises that go without saying in a multinational company like Pharmaton.
The international character of Pharmaton is also mirrored in the diversity of our employees. People from over ten
different nations work at Pharmaton, and intercultural contact is an everyday event.
In a global company like Pharmaton, attractive and competitive salaries, advanced benefits, and equal opportunities
for men and women are taken for granted.
Here are just a few of the interesting and innovative employment benefits offered by Pharmaton:
Flexible working hours
At Pharmaton, staff members in administrative and scientific sectors are given the opportunity
to manage their own working hours based on a forty-hour week. In addition to flexible working hours, Pharmaton
also offers several part-time employment models. In the production departments, on the other hand, work is
scheduled in shifts for organisational reasons.
Paid holidays
Our staff members are currently entitled to four weeks (twenty working days) paid holiday a year.
It should be stressed that they can fix their own holiday periods - subject to the agreement of their direct superiors
and their team - on an individual basis. Different conditions apply to the production departments.
In addition to the standard four weeks of holiday, there are also fifteen cantonal holidays and two additional holidays
introduced by Pharmaton (24th December and Good Friday).
Seniority of service
Employees who have been working for Pharmaton for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years or more receive
special loyalty bonus and extra holidays.
Insurance
The normal 5.05% AVS / AI / IPG contributions are withheld from employees' salaries as well as
those for unemployment insurance, which amount to 1%. Occupational and non-occupational accident insurance (SUVA) is
paid for entirely by Pharmaton.
Regarding insurance for loss of earnings due to illness, the employee pays only one-third of the premium, while the
remaining two thirds are paid by Pharmaton. The employee is responsible for arranging only their own private health
insurance.
Second pillar
The pension scheme provided for Pharmaton SA personnel is a very attractive independent pension fund.
One third of the premium is paid by the employee and two thirds by Pharmaton.
Maternity leave
Pharmaton entitles female employees to paid maternity leave (also in case of adoptions) of sixteen weeks (112 days).
Training
We offer our staff a large number of in-house and external courses and seminars for improving and
developing their professional and personal skills.
Company restaurant "PharmaSnack"
This restaurant is used not only by most of our employees but also by many visitors and by guests
from Switzerland and abroad. Meals for staff members are currently available for the symbolic price of 4.00 francs.
"PharmaCentro" sports and leisure facilities
Only a few kilometres away from the corporate premises we have a recreation area at the centre
of a green area and consisting of a grotto, a tennis court and a bocce court. The facility is at the disposal of
all staff members and is free of charge.
Gruppo Ricreativo Aziendale dei Lavoratori (GRAL):
The organising committee "GRAL" plans a range of cultural and sports events each
year. Events are open to employees and their families.
Private purchases
Staff members may purchase Pharmaton and Boehringer Ingelheim over-the-counter products at special
discounts for their own and their family members' use.

rewarded with interesting prizes.
